Our Story
A while ago, a friend got seriously ill in Buenos Aires. He didn't know what was wrong. Home remedies and medicine prescribed by his doctor back home were not helping. He needed medical attention on the ground in Buenos Aires.
Neither he nor his partner spoke Spanish fluently. They struggled to find a doctor or a hospital with English speaking staff. They had trouble finding the medicine they needed. Desperate, they reached out to the nomad community in Argentina to see if someone could help.
A nomad friend of theirs with connections in Argentina's healthcare system decided to take action. He created a Whatsapp group to crowd source knowledge from the community hoping this would help his friend and others in similar situations.
The response was overwhelming. Dozens of people joined the group. Their combined efforts lent to finding the right hospital, an English-speaking doctor, and the necessary prescription for the medication they needed.
Now, two years later, the group continues to grow. It has become a valuable resource where people have found their doctors, medical specialists, insurance providers, but also vets, personal trainers, and information on how to get the medication they need.
However, since Whatsapp doesn't allow access to past message to new members, the information is limited to those who were present when the messages were sent. To make this information accessible to everyone, we created this website.
